Research Methodology

This is a page about my course Research Methodology, which aims at MPA students and requires little maths knowledge and no quantitative background. The slides are open for downloading below.

This course is a general introduction to social research methods and will cover three main empirical research activities: (1) the general introduction to research, including topics on Introduction to Social Science Research, and Research Design; (2) the empirical methods part, including topics on Case Study in Qualitative Research, Descriptive Statistics, Explorative Data Analysis, Sampling and Inference, Data Collection with Questionaries, Secondary Data for Original Research, Confirmative Data Analysis and Hypothesis Testing, Regression Analysis and Correlation, Causal Inference, and Mediation and Moderation; (3) the reading and writing part, including topics like Guides to Academic Writing.
